โดยบังเอิญ ผมได้ผลงานเล่มแรกของเธอ ชื่อ Awkward ที่ร้านหนังสือ
ที่เมืองทรัมบูล รัฐคอนเนคติคัต อเมริกา เมื่อประมาณปี 2001 (หรือ 2)
(เล่มบางๆ เหมือนเด็กประถมหัดวาดรูป แต่เนื้อหา เด็กไม่ควรอ่าน!
เนื้อหาบริสุทธิ์ มากๆ คือ ไม่กลัวพ่อแม่ มาอ่านเรื่องของเธอเลย ... แบบว่า ชีวิตเด็กสาวอเมริกา
มันเป็นแบบนี้นี่เอง!....)
ในกระบะลดราคาแหลก (น่าจะเหลือเล่มละ 1 ดอลล่าร์) หลายปีมาแล้ว.. สินะ
คนไทยที่รู้จัก Ariel Schrag นอกจากผมแล้ว ยังมีอีกไหม? ใครรู้จักมั่งครับ
เธอเพิ่งออกผลงานใหม่ ผลงานเดิม 3 เล่มที่ผ่านมา ผมซื้อเก็บหมดแล้ว (ตอนอยู่ที่โน่น)
การ์ตูนเธอวาดไม่สวย แต่เป็น diary บันทึกเรื่องชีวิตเธอ ที่ตรงๆ ทั้งฉากมีเซ็ก ฉากจูบกับผู้ชายคนแรก ฉากสูบกัญาครั้งแรก แบบว่า มันตรง มันโดน... คนไทยยังไม่มีใครเขียนอะไรตรงๆ แบบนี้ออกมา เมื่อไหร่จะมีหนอ
คนไทยวาดสวยมาก สวยกว่า Ariel แทบทุกคน แต่เนื้อหาโดนๆแบบนี้ คนไทย ผมยังไม่เคยเห็น หรือว่ามี ใครก็ได้

chronicle my four years at Berkeley High School. I wrote each book during the summer after the school year I was documenting.
